Entities and characters that in the past characterized my way of painting (have also a look to my
Monsters page) have increasingly dissolved into colour: starting from 2017 forms have opened up, free from constraints, up to abstraction and increasingly intense chromatic schemes. In the end, I no longer needed to represent characters, to enclose the colour in a shape. I was and I am free to express, especially by colour, my freedom and to communicate the strength of being oneself.
Classical literature remains the source of inspiration in titling my recent works, perhaps because each painting, with its alphabet of signs, can be read as a new chapter in my life as an artist.
